Mountains are a central part of my life. I organise selected journeys in places I know well, and occasionally in regions I genuinely want to explore myself. The focus is on interesting terrain, quality riding, remote places, local culture and enough flexibility to make decisions based on actual conditions rather than a fixed itinerary.

Mountain Journeys

Mountain journeys range from one-day guiding and week-long ski trips to remote camps and exploratory expeditions. Some are physically and technically demanding; others allow more time for recovery, practice and simply being in the mountains.

Meditation, Tsa Lung and breathing practice are part of some journeys, but not all of them. Sometimes we simply go skiing.

TYPES OF JOURNEYS

One-Day Ski Touring in Gudauri

Sometimes it is simply about going skiing.

If I am free and the conditions or route look interesting, I am happy to spend a day ski touring or splitboarding in the Gudauri and Kazbegi area.

No retreat format and no formal practice sessions. Just good snow, interesting terrain and good company.

Ski Touring Journeys

One- to two-week ski-touring and splitboarding journeys in Georgia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, the Himalayas and other mountain regions.

Skiing is the main focus. Depending on the journey, meditation, Tsa Lung or breathing practice may also become part of the daily rhythm, with time to explore the region beyond the snow.

Remote Backcountry Camps

Three to five days based in remote mountain locations, away from resorts and established infrastructure.

We live in the mountains and ski directly from camp, choosing terrain according to snow, weather and conditions. The focus is on good skiing, simplicity and the experience of spending several days in the mountain environment rather than returning to a resort each evening.

Ski / Splitboard Expeditions

Routes may not be fully mapped in advance, and plans remain flexible as we learn more about access, terrain, snow and local conditions. These journeys are for experienced participants who enjoy exploration itself and are comfortable being part of the process rather than following a finished itinerary.

Some expeditions also contribute to Still Wild Mountains, my ongoing work in mountain research, route development, guidebooks and expedition design.

Summer MTB Journeys

Multi-day mountain-bike journeys through remote valleys, high passes and lesser-travelled regions of Georgia and beyond.

The focus is on landscape, route exploration and long days outside rather than racing or bike-park riding.

Formats vary depending on the region, from supported journeys to more exploratory routes.

Mountains & Practice

On selected journeys, meditation, Tsa Lung and breathing practices become part of the daily rhythm, perhaps before breakfast, after skiing or on a weather day when we stay inside.

Some programs include structured instruction; in others, practice remains optional and informal. And some mountain journeys do not include it at all.

My Approach

I continue to guide private groups, but I no longer try to maintain a full calendar.

None of the directions on this site, including ski guiding, exists simply to fill available dates. I prefer to do fewer journeys where the place, conditions and group make sense, with the focus on quality skiing and a genuinely distinctive experience.

Have a Place in Mind?

Some journeys begin with a message about a mountain region someone has always wanted to explore.

If the idea interests me too and I think I can be useful there, we can develop the journey together.

OCEAN

Surfing and freediving offer another way of meeting movement, breath and attention. Ocean programs combine time in the water with meditation, Tsa Lung and breathing practice.

MIND

Meditation, Tsa Lung and breathing practices offer practical ways of working with awareness, energy and the state of mind. They can be practised on their own, or become part of a journey through mountains and ocean.
